State-of-the art compilation of coastal benthic monitoring data (free web-page + printed report + scientific papers.

Data-compilation for analysis on benthos vs. environmental gradients; identification of links between abiotic and biotic elements.

Species- and assemblage-specific reference conditions and attributes for Baltic coastal zoobenthos.

Numerical relationships between benthos and environmental gradients.

Blue links leads to deliverables when completed.

Completed background report within months 01-12.

Completed base-line analysis including environmental and biological; close links to WP2, WP3, WP5 & WP6.

Defined and quantitative species- and assemblage characteristics in relation to other ecological state variables and elements.

Testing performed for specific target (model) areas in relation to typology (WP1) and indices of reference conditions defined.
