General Rules of Employment of Young Visiting Researchers
Visiting researchers must be aged 35 years or less at the time of their appointment by a participant in the frame of the network contract. An allowance to this age limit may be made for compulsory military service or child care.
Visiting researchers must be holders of a doctoral degree or of a degree that qualifies them to embark on a doctoral degree.
Visiting researchers must be nationals of a Community Member State or a State associated with the Programme (Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein and Norway).
Visiting researchers must not be nationals of the state in which the participant appointing them is established and must not have carried out their normal activities in that state for more than 18 of the 24 months prior to their appointment.
Visiting researchers must be appointed specifically to carry out research associated with the project or to assist the network co-ordinator in the scientific co-ordination of the project.
Appointments are to be made in accordance with the internal rules, including pay and conditions, of the participant concerned.
