Dr. Peter Sahm is employed at the Laboratory of Heat Transfer and Environmental Engineering, Aristotle University Thessaloniki (LHTEE/AUT) as a visiting researcher in the frame of TRAPOS. His appointment will initially cover the period 1.Feb.1998-31.Jul.1999. He will be involved in the development of a multiscale model cascade that will simulate the interactions from regional scale to microscale. He will be also involved in the adaptation of chemical modules for smaller scales and will prepare and perform simulations for case studies in collaboration with related teams in the TRAPOS Network.

Dr. Petra Kastner-Klein is since May 1999 employed at the Institute for Climate Research, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH, Zurich, Switzerland (ETHZ). Her research topic covers Modelling of atmospheric pollutant dispersion in urban canopies, modification of wind field by surface roughness and buildings. She is especially involved in studies of the Traffic Produced Turbulence and is leading the TRAPOS Working Group on this subject.

Dr. Michael Czech is by 01.03.98 employed at the Fluid Mechanics Research Group, Surrey University, UK (U.Surrey) as a part-time visiting researcher. He is working on a PhD project on Pressure fluctuations and flow fields in rectangular cavities under yaw. Results from this study will be used for testing numerical models within the TRAPOS Network.

Dr. Jana Vyhlanikova was employed at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Department of Geography, Switzerland (ETHZ) from 1 st September 1998 until 31 January 1999. She was involved in the work conducted at ETHZ within the TRAPOS Network.

Dr. Matthias Ketzel is by 07.09.98 employed at the National Environmental Research Institute, Roskilde, Denmark (NERI) as a visiting researcher in the frame of TRAPOS. He will mainly work with comparison of German and Danish street pollution models, testing the models and investigation of the possible improvements of applied engineering models in view of results from more advanced numerical models.

Dr. Petroula Louka is employed at Ecole Centrale de Nantes, Fluid Mechanics Laboratory, Nantes, France (ECN) as a post-doc researcher starting on 1st January 1999. She was working with measurements of airflow in an urban environment with special focus on the study of mean airflow and turbulence within and above an urban street via specially developed experimental techniques supported by computational analysis.

Dr. Emmanuel Le Huu Nho is employed at the University of Hamburg, Meteorological Institute, Hamburg, Germany (MIHU) as a post-doc researcher starting on 1st February 1999. His speciallity was within research on mechanisms of turbulent drag reduction and within TRAPOS he will work on wind-tunnel modelling and aquisition of data for model evaluation.

Dr. Christian Chauvet is employed at the University of Hamburg, Meteorological Institute, Hamburg, Germany (MIHU) as a post-doc researcher starting on 1st March 1999. His speciallity was within research on acoustics and aerodynamics of heavy road vehicles and within TRAPOS he will work on wind-tunnel modelling and aquisition of data for model evaluation.

Dr. Jose Ribeiro is employed at the University of Karlsruhe, Institute of Hydromechanics, Karlsruhe, Germany (U.Karlsruhe) as a young visiting researcher starting on 1st February 1999. His work within TRAPOS will be mainly on wind-tunnel experiments on modelling flow and dispersion of gaseous pollutants inside and around urban street canyons.

Dr. Silvana Di Sabatino is employed at the Cambridge Environmental Research Consultants Ltd., Cambridge, UK (CERC) as a post-doc researcher starting on 1st February 1999. Her work will be on URBAN-ADMS model and concerns the implementation of novel algorithms to take into account street architecture, improvement of the physical discription in the model of calm wind conditions and a structured evaluation of the model itself.

Dr. Giulia Clai is employed at Ingenieurbüro Dr.-Ing. Achim Lohmeyer, Radebeul, Germany (IBAL) as a visiting researcher starting on 1st June 1999. Her work will mainly concern evaluation of model applications in connection with implementation of the new European Directivs on air pollution from traffic, with special emphasis on estimation of high percentile values.

Dr. Alexis Madrange is employed for three months at the University of Karlsruhe, Institute of Hydromechanics, Karlsruhe, Germany (U.Karlsruhe) as a young visiting researcher starting on July 1999. He will be working with concentration and flow measurements and comparisons with the full-scale data from the street Rue de Strasbourg in Nantes taking into account vehicle-induced turbulence.

Dr. Anke Kovar-Panskus is since August, 1999 employed at the Fluid Mechanics Research Group, Surrey University, UK (U.Surrey). The aim of her work will be to investigate the flow in a 2-D canyon cavity and its variations with changing aspect ratio. The research is also providing data sets for validation of numerical models being developed by other TRAPOS groups.

Dr. Silvia Trini Castelli is since February 2000 employed as a part-time visiting researcher at the Department of Environmental Quality of the TNO Institute of Environmental Sciences, Energy Research and Process Innovation (TNO-MEP), Apeldoorn, The Netherlands (TNO). She will work on the improvement of C.F.D. models for air quality predictions related to traffic pollution, in particular in the case of alternative highway constructions, with a special focus on turbulence modelling.
