AMAP, University of Copenhagen and Aarhus University have published the first call for papers and early registration for the conference 'The Arctic as a Messenger for Global Processes - Climate Change and Pollution', which will take place at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark 4 - 6 May 2011.

International Conference on Arctic Marine Science, International Law and Climate Protection

The German Federal Foreign Office is hosting the International Conference on Arctic Marine Science, International Law and Climate Protection. The event will take place on the Berlin premises of the Federal Foreign Office on 17-18 March 2011. Co-host is the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, with additional support from prominent research institutes. The Conference will discuss the legal framework for marine scientific research in the Arctic Ocean at present and in the future. Scholars, scientists and diplomats with an interest in the Arctic Ocean are invited to attend.

In this context, the IASC Secretariat apologizes for the inconvenience caused by Email responses accidentally sent to the IASC mailing list. We have taken measures to disable any undeliberate or deliberate Emails to the IASC mailing list.

The next FARO meeting will take place at the 12'th Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW), 27 March - 1 April, in Seoul, Korea.

The theme of the ASSW 2011 Science Symposium is: The Arctic: New Frontier for Global Science.
